General Information

The Information Resource Center (IRC) is a reference facility providing up-to-date information to Chinese audiences and U.S. Mission staff on U.S. policy, legislation and social issues. The center has information on the following subjects: rule of law, economics and trade, regional security, the environment and U.S. society and values. Staffed by professional documentation and reference specialists and equipped with modern information retrieval technologies such as CD-ROMs, on-line databases and the Internet, the IRC provides continually updated information on current U.S. policy and legislation to Chinese government officials, academics and journalists as well as U.S. Mission staff.

The reference service staff is available to help users on most topics concerning the United States. The IRC is open to Chinese visitors Monday - Friday from 9:00 ~ 12:00 in the morning, and from 1:00 ~ 5:00 in the afternoon. You may also contact us by phone, by fax or by e-mail.

We are closed on American and Chinese holidays. Please be prepared to present your identification card or passport at the entrance.

*Please note that the Information Resource Center does not answer or discuss visa questions. All visa queries should be directed to the Immigrant Visa or Non-Immigrant Visa Section.
