Kunming American Citizen Services Outreach on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
A consular officer from the United States Consulate in Chengdu will be in Kunming on Tuesday, November 3rd and will be able to provide limited consular services. For exact times and location, please see details below:

Limited American Citizen Services:
The consular officer will be able to perform a number of limited American Citizen Services. For some of these services, some of your materials may have to be brought to Kunming for processing. If this is the case, they can be returned to you via the local Chinese EMS mailing service. However, mailing through EMS is done at your own risk, as we cannot guarantee EMS service. To use the EMS mailing service, you must bring your address (in Chinese) and a 20 RMB EMS mailing fee. Alternatively, you can come to pick up your documents at the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu during regularly scheduled ACS hours.
Please note the consular officer will have no change available, so exact change is required.
A small number of required forms will be available, but it is suggested that you download, print, and fill out any required forms yourself. These are all available on our website: http://chengdu.usembassy-china.org.cn/service.html.
Also, please bring originals and photocopies of all materials submitted you will be submitting.
Available American citizen services will be limited to the following:
Passport applications and renewals:
Adult passport initial application - cost 710 RMB or $100
For adult passport renewals, the cost is 532.50 RMB or $75.00
For both initial passport applications or renewals for minors (children younger than 16), the cost is 603.50 RMB or $85.00 (please note that for all passport applications for children under 16, the child and both parents must be present at the time of application and both parents must sign the child’s application)
20 RMB EMS mailing fee, if required

Current passport, and a photocopy of your passport biodata page
20 RMB EMS mailing fee, if required
Please note that while applications can be accepted in Kunming, additional pages can only be added in Chengdu. Your passport can be sent back to you through EMS after the pages have been added, or you can come to Chengdu to pick up your passport during regularly scheduled ACS hours.
Certificates of Marriageability:
The initial notarization can be completed in Kunming, but final processing is required in Chengdu. We can send the completed certificate to you by EMS.
Cost is 213 RMB or $30
Current passport, and a photocopy of your passport biodata page
Fiance(e)’s ID, and a photocopy of the ID
Proof of previous dissolution of marriage by death or divorce, if applicable, and a photocopy
Your address in Chinese and 20 RMB EMS mailing fee
Notarials:
The initial notarization can be completed in Kunming, but final processing is required in Chengdu. We can send the completed documents to you by EMS.
- Cost is 213 RMB or $30 (notarials of US government documents are free)
Please note that for all non-US government documents, the consular officer will have to review the specific document to determine whether it can be notarized in Kunming
