Social Security

US citizens residing in the Chengdu consular district may apply for Social Security benefits online at www.socialsecurity.gov. Once the application has been approved, social security checks may be sent to the US Consulate Chengdu American Citizens Services Center.  US Consulate Chengdu will either forward the checks to the US citizen or hold them for in-person pickup.

Taxes

Most federal income tax forms are available in the Consular Section, please stop by during normal American Citizen Services hours.

State tax forms need to be obtained by corresponding directly with state tax offices.
