Consular Chief Discusses U.S. Policy on Tourist Visas with Chengdu-based Journalists


Consul General David E. Brown introduces Consular Chief Tina Onufer during a September 28 media roundtable on tourist visas to the United States.

September 28 – Consular Chief Tina Onufer of the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu addressed print, radio, and television media during a September 28, 2009, press roundtable on U.S. tourist visas.  During the discussion with Chengdu-based journalists, Ms. Onufer explained U.S. visa policy, including the application process and qualifications for tourist visas to the United States, and clarified misunderstandings about group leisure travel.  U.S. Consul General David E. Brown introduced the roundtable, discussed visa trends over recent years, and reiterated that the United States welcomes and encourages Chinese tourists to travel to the United States.
